Brevard High’s fall sports teams have had a great season, with standout performances, historic achievements and inspiring moments.
The varsity football squad is the only team still in action, having advanced to the fourth round of the playoffs with a 10-2 record. The Blue Devils will host Forest Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6.
The team defeated Anson 42-6 at home in round one, then defeated Bunker Hill 37-29 in Claremont on Nov. 22. On Nov. 29, the Blue Devils beat East Rutherford 42-6 at home.
It’s been a thrilling season for the team, with fans eagerly watching as the team pushes through the playoffs. Find complete results at maxpreps.com.
From dominant conference titles to state-level appearances, many fall athletes have made their mark in a variety of sports.

Here’s a look back at the season:
Volleyball
The Lady Devils volleyball team had an impressive season, finishing with an 18-5 record and securing first place in their conference. After powering through tough competition, the team made it to the 3rd round of the state playoffs.
Junior Morgan Baldridge reflected on the season, saying it was “energetic, uplifting and wholesome,” embodying the spirit that carried the team throughout their success.
Men’s soccer
For the men’s soccer team, it’s been a season to remember. With an 18-4-2 record, the team not only won their conference but also made it to the second round of the state playoffs, marking the first time in over 20 years that the program has claimed the conference title.
Sophomore Rion Coadwell described the season as “competitive, memorable and heartbreaking” – a fitting summary of a campaign full of highs and tough moments.
Cross country
Brevard’s cross country teams have once again proven their dominance. The men’s team brought home the state title for the second time in two years, continuing a tradition of excellence. Meanwhile, the women’s team also had a standout season, making it to the state meet and finishing strong. Their perseverance and grit were evident throughout the season, making the entire program proud.
Women’s golf
A milestone achievement for the women’s golf team was advancing to regionals for the first time in seven years. With a second-place finish in the conference, the team has shown tremendous growth and potential.
The season was “rewarding, challenging and fun,” said Junior Emma English, highlighting the hard work that led to such a successful season.
Women’s tennis
Brevard’s women’s tennis team had an outstanding season, advancing to regionals and finishing third in the conference. Sophomore June Coykendall described the season as “challenging, exciting and sad,” reflecting the ups and downs of the sport while remaining proud of the team’s overall performance.
Future
As the fall sports season comes to an end, Brevard High athletes are looking forward to even more success in the future. Brevard High School can be proud of all the hard work, dedication, and determination displayed by these student-athletes.
