Cadets in the BHS JROTC program held a field meet Nov. 26 at Deerwoode Reserve. Every year, cadets in the program come together, complete physical activities and recover with a potluck lunch.

One activity they completed was a 2.5-mile run, and during the run they had to get through a series of obstacles. These obstacles included a rope tied to a tree, which a teammate in a harness had to use to cross between trees.

Cadets then ran to the next obstacle, where one cadet had to drag another cadet to safety using the cradle drop drag method. They ran up the trail to the next obstacle, where they had to throw down mats and use them to move without touching the ground.

Cadets also had to run carrying ammo crates, then do an army crawl under ropes. The next obstacle was jumping over a 5-foot wall, then running over to sleds, where they would work as a team to move forward.

At the end of the meet, the cadets had a potluck back at Brevard High and talked and celebrated with one another.
