This year, Brevard High’s spring break is planned for the week of April 14-18. Many students are traveling, and others are relaxing in Brevard.
When asked about their plans, students gave the following answers:
“I’m going to Cape San Blas in Florida.” – junior Nora Felty
“My friend and I are going to Treasure Island, Florida.” – junior Keargan Mitchell
“I’m probably going to Lake Keowee.” – sophomore Kinslan O’Dea
“I’m going to Stewart, Florida.” – junior Kayla Davenport
“I’m going to Kentucky to see Tyler Childers and Zach Bryan.” – sophomore Scarlett Major
“I might go camping somewhere; I’m not sure where yet.” – junior Leyland Benjamin
Some students have plans to stay in Brevard.
“I’m scheduled to work for most of spring break. And doing school work. Other than that, just relaxing.” – senior Mahala Summey
“Just working and hanging out with friends.”- junior Brooklyn Webb
“Mostly just sleeping.” – sophomore Pitcher Schaumann
“I’m staying at my house and sleeping.” – sophomore Georgia Gerring
One discussion prominent among upperclassmen was the dates of spring break this year in correlation to prom on April 5. Many students said they wished spring break was before prom, like the years before.
Many also said they had just wished prom would be later in May, rather than in April.
“I think it (spring break)is at a good time this year, better than last year because it was too early,” said Felty. “But it’s after prom unfortunately. I could be super tan for prom if it was after spring break!”
