Art Guild, BHS’s longest-running visual arts organization, is recruiting new members. The guild’s first meeting will be held at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18 in the art room on the math wing.
The guild is open to all students, even those not enrolled in an art class. The organization is student-led with leadership opportunities, and meets weekly on Thursdays after school for arts and crafts, movies and potlucks.
Art Guild will also host its annual dodgeball tournament this spring. While the date has not yet been confirmed, organizers are looking at March 5, a Thursday, for the event. The game is a fundraiser for the school’s art programs and is a great way to get involved and compete against others.
In addition to the dodgeball game, there’s a costume contest held between the competing teams. Sign-ups are $3 per person or $24 per team, and there are eight people per team. There will be Art Guild members at both lunches in February to get you signed up.
Art Guild is a great way to connect with the creative community at BHS. Anyone interested should come out Thursday.
