The varsity football team claimed the title of Mountain Eight 4A/5A Conference Champions, finishing the regular season with an impressive record of 10-0, beating Pisgah in a high-intensity game with a score of 36-30 that went into double overtime.
Their undefeated run not only secured first place in the conference but also proved the team’s hard work, dedication and determination throughout the season.
Each week, the players took things one game at a time, focusing on improvement and teamwork. Behind every win was a group of athletes holding each other accountable, both on and off the field, pushing themselves to be better every single day.
“It’s great; everyone loves one another and we have the ability to call each other out on things that last year’s team couldn’t do,” said senior Aiden Cantrell, who plays wide receiver and safety.
Their strong bond and relentless work ethic have defined what it means to wear their school colors with pride.

Now, the Blue Devils prepare to take on the West Stokes Wildcats this Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. at home in the second round of the state playoffs, after Brevard earned a bye week.
“Being undefeated is not the goal,” said Shane Worley, offensive line coach. “Every week we have to find a way to win. This group of athletes is good at finding ways to win. Being undefeated doesn’t matter now; you got to be 1-0 every week or you’re going home.
“This team is based off love; they love each other and play for each other. You can’t compare apple and oranges. Last years team is different from this year’s team.”

The community’s support has been strong all season, with students, parents and fans filling the stands each Friday night.
Leah Cabe, a student athlete who comes to support on Friday nights, said, “They all work in unison; there’s not one person who doesn’t seem like they don’t know what they’re doing. They seem like a family that celebrates each other’s accomplishments. They just want to see each other win.”
Every tackle, every touchdown and every practice has built something bigger than football. It’s about brotherhood.
When the lights turn on this Friday night, the conference champs won’t just be defending their perfect record, they’ll be fighting for everything they’ve worked for. A season of sweat, sacrifice, and belief has led to this moment.
And as they step onto the field, one thing is certain: they’re not just chasing victory, they’re chasing a legacy.
