A Club Fair was held in the library Wednesday, Dec. 3, allowing students and advisors to showcase their organizations to the student body during both lunches.

Nearly 20 clubs set up tables with information and visuals, and students could sign up to join at the start of the next semester or get more information.

Club members created display boards, made pamphlets, brought props and offered giveaways during the fair.

Thespian Club members went a step further and staged a “combat” demonstration as an attention-grabber. Two students surprised the crowd when they got into a “fight,” which ended with a pitch to join the club.

The stunt was created and performed by Ian Merritt, Tyler Madison, Samuel White, Jack Gresham and Leon Saucier.

“I thought it was funny, too,” said club advisor Candace Burchill. “I was happy they were being creative to attract attention to our booth.”

It was Saucier’s idea to stage the fight. He wanted something shocking to get more attention, “and let people know that we don’t just dance and sing.”

Assistant Principal Melinda Stinson told staff in an email that the fair “was a big hit. We had so many students show up to run tables and talk to potential members!”

She also thanked EdTech Coordinator Kathryn Bailey for organizing the event.

Bailey also thought the fair as a success and praised the school’s “impressive student leaders.”
