For the first time in 43 years, Brevard High’s varsity football team is headed to the state championship game.
The Blue Devils will face the Reidsville High Rams for the NCHSAA 4A State Championship on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory.
This is the first time since 1982 that Brevard High has played for a state championship.
Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. and tickets are $20, as set by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. Tickets can be bought via GoFan or with cash at the gate.
A fan bus will leave BHS at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Students need to have a permission form signed by a parent or guardian and a ticket to ride the bus. Forms are due by the end of the school day Wednesday.
“We highly encourage students and parents to attend the state championship game,” Athletic Director Josh Galloway said in the Blue & White Weekly Newsletter.
The game will also be available to watch on WMYA-TV (channel My40).
The Rams have 12-2 overall and 6-0 conference records and have won their last 11 games. They defeated Central Davidson 53-20 to advance to the championship.
