Students in Laura Smith’s business classes have been making nativities to be sold as shelf-sitters. The nativities are made from wood sheets.

Smith wanted to make nativities because they are popular and people collect them.

“They wanted to make something for the Christmas holiday as well as a product that would be part of a family’s holiday decor,” Smith explained.

The nativities are $30 a piece and can be paid for with cash or checks. The money raised will help pay for food for BHS students at the state DECA conference.

Anyone interested in buying a nativity can go to Smith’s room, 701 in the CTE wing. Community members who would like to buy one can email Smith for other arrangements.

The sale will end when the nativities sell out. “Time permitting we may be able to make more if we have enough lead time,” Smith said.
