The women’s varsity and JV soccer teams began their season a few weeks ago, with varsity having played five games and JV three.
Varsity has won twice, against Polk County High and Enka High, but lost to Asheville High and tied with T.C. Roberson.
In their last game, the team tied 3-3 with A.C. Reynolds on Wednesday, March 11. The team was down 2-0 in the first 20 minutes, but managed to tie it up by halftime. The Lady Devils scored again in the second half, going up 3-2. After the full 80 minutes, the final result was a 3-3 tie
The JV team got its first victory Wednesday, 3-1 against A.C. Reynolds, after losing to T.C. Roberson and tying with Asheville.
The teams typically have games on Wednesdays and Fridays, with home games played at the BHS football field. JV games begin at 5 p.m., followed by varsity at about 6:30 p.m.
The teams will return to action after spring break when they travel to West Henderson March 23. Chappy Powell is entering his second year as coach.
