Maddie Galloway

Maddie Galloway, co-editor-in-chief

Galloway is one of the co-editors for The Broadcaster. She is a junior who has been on The Broadcaster team for two semesters. She spends most of her time playing sports, competing on the varsity basketball, volleyball, cross country and track teams.

Paula Garcia, co-editor-in-chief

Garcia, 17, is a senior at BHS. Her primary coverage is sports and the student body. This is her second semester on The Broadcaster staff.

Garcia was born in Brevard. In her free time, she enjoys baking, hanging out with friends and family, reading, and painting. After high school, she plans to attend a four-year university to major in biochemistry and work in the medical field.

Mary Fritschie, creative writing director

Fritschie is the creative writing director for The Broadcaster. She is a junior who has been on the staff for three semesters. She was born in Bella Vista, Ark., and moved to Brevard in 2024.

She enjoys writing poetry, hiking, going on road trips and listening to music. After graduation, she plans to attend a four-year university to major in business.

Charlotte Barlow, creative writing director

Barlow is a sophomore who joined the staff to build her photography and videography skills. Her beat is sports photography for The Broadcaster. Barlow was born in Mt. Airy and moved to Brevard when she was in sixth grade.

She loves to spend time with her friends and family. She especially loves to shop, which is hard because she is saving up for a car at the moment. Once she gets that car, she will be going everywhere, from restaurants to shopping. Contact Barlow at 28cbarlow@s.tcsnc.org.

Koa Conley, news editor

Conley is a sophomore who joined The Broadcaster to gain journalism experience. Conley was born in Micanopy, FL, and moved to Brevard in 2018. She enjoys hanging out with friends, playing soccer and listening to music. Her beat is the Lady Devils soccer team. Contact Conley at 28koconley@s.tcsnc.org.

Harper Kline, photo editor

Kline is a freshman who joined The Broadcaster to strengthen her writing abilities, get more comfortable with the idea of working in groups, and dabble in photo and videography. She was born in Ohio, and her family moved to Brevard in 2019. Her passions include theater, painting, dancing, and writing.

Kline wants to provide The Broadcaster with updates from the theater community, including from the Theater 1 and 2 classes, hints on their One Act performances, and updates from “Into the Woods.” Contact Kline at 29hkline@s.tcsnc.org.

Dakota Sizemore, sports editor 

Sizemore is a junior who has always had a passion for photography and videography, and joined The Broadcaster to pursue her passion and gain experience with writing. Mostly born and raised in and around Brevard, she loves sports, specifically tennis and soccer. She also loves painting, taking photos, going on long trips, hanging out with friends and family and animals.

Emma Sluder, videogrophy lead

Sluder is a freshman who joined The Broadcaster to share experiences and cover things not everyone hears about. Born and raised in Western North Carolina, she enjoys baking, cooking and spending quality time with friends. She also enjoys the performing arts, such as band and choir. Grant Upton

Upton is a senior who joined The Broadcaster because it looked like fun. He enjoys writing and taking pictures. His favorite subject is science and color is purple. Upton has played percussion for seven years and is planning to continue playing through college and beyond. He covers the band beat for The Broadcaster. Contact him at 26gupton@s.tcsnc.org.

Isabella Amato

Amato is a freshman who joined The Broadcaster because she enjoys interviewing people and photography. She has lived in North Carolina her entire life and has two brothers. Amato’s favorite thing to do is hang out with friends. Her beat includes the animals at the BHS barn, choir, and student life. 

Hadley Boswell

Boswell is a freshman who joined The Broadcaster to work on her photography and writing skills. Born in Asheville, she grew up in Cashiers and then moved to Brevard. She enjoys playing volleyball, going on hikes, and going to the lake in the summer.

Boswell covers the volleyball teams for The Broadcaster. She plans to go to the University of North Carolina, following in her father’s footsteps, as he is an alumnus. Contact Boswell at 29hboswell@s.tcsnc.org. 

Ammali Carter-Griste

Ammali is a freshman who was born in Asheville and moved to Brevard in 2023. She enjoys photography, traveling and listening to music. Contact her at 29acartergriste@s.tcsnc.org.

LT Collington 

Collington is a freshman who covers sports because he enjoys the games. He was born in Hendersonville and enjoys basketball and video games. Contact Collington at 29lcollington@s.tcsnc.org

Oren Conley

Conley is a freshman who joined The Broadcaster staff to get more experience. She enjoys photography and playing soccer. Conley was born in Gainesville, FL, and moved to Brevard in 2019. She also enjoys painting and rainy days. Reach Conley at 29oconley@s.tcsnc.org.

Tricia Forshee

Forshee is a junior who joined The Broadcaster to gain experience in journalism and improve her writing skills. She enjoys English and creative writing. She spends her free time listening to music and hanging out with friends.

Forshee joined journalism to challenge herself and learn more about media and storytelling. After graduating, she hopes to continue developing her writing skills in college. Contact Forshee at 27pforshee@s.tcsnc.org.

Naomi Gardner

Gardner is a freshman who joined The Broadcaster because they enjoy the idea of investigative journalism and being able to look deeper into things. They were born in Asheville, but have grown up in Brevard since age 2.

Christian Girolamo 

Girolamo is a sophomore who joined The Broadcaster because he wanted to improve his writing and cover stories that matter to students. His favorite subjects are English and business, and he likes basketball and journalism.

Kaminsky is a freshman who joined the journalism class because she enjoys taking photos and enjoyed the class in eighth grade. Logan Pressley

Kamryn Springston

Hannah Wallace

Wallace is a freshman who joined The Broadcaster because she loves photography. She covers the BHS barn and agriculture. Wallace grew up in Michigan, but moved to Brevard when she was 10. Maleigha Worley
