Students and staff donated 28 units of blood during a blood drive Wednesday, Feb. 26 at BHS, enough to save as many as 84 lives. Seventeen donors gave blood for the first time.
The blood drive was organized and run by Health Occupations teacher Stephanie Ramsey and her students, with assistance from JROTC cadets. Students 16 and older were allowed to donate with parent or guardian permission.
One unit of blood can save up to three lives, according to the American Red Cross.
