Just the other day, I needed my phone because my sister was having her baby and having complications. I needed to have my phone out so I could get updates and know how my sister was doing and how the baby was doing, but I couldn’t because of the stupid phone policy.

If you walk into basically any classroom right now, you already know the vibe. The teacher is trying to get through a lesson while half the class is secretly staring at a screen hidden behind a notebook or buried in their lap.

When states started passing these crazy-strict phone bans, most of us thought it was a total buzzkill. But honestly? Once you really think about it, a break from our phones during the day might actually be the reset we all secretly need.

For real, school has turned into this non-stop battle between teachers and app developers who literally design social media to keep us hooked 24/7.

Every time your phone vibrates, your brain instantly snaps out of whatever is happening in class. Before you know it, you’ve missed half the notes and have no idea what’s going on.

Having a clear rule across the whole state takes the pressure off teachers to act like the phone police every five minutes.

When everyone has to put their devices away, it levels the playing field so we can actually focus without feeling like we’re missing out on a group chat or a trending video.
